Greek Lovers and Legends

Home | Greek Legends

Why did I chose to call this section of Mythography Lovers and Legends? Well, it seemed like a way to organize two themes in Greek myth that go well together. And I also enjoyed the mnemonic aspect of the title.

Lovers | These myths involve themes of love, desire, and passion; some examples are the story of Eros and Psyche, the tale of Echo and Narcissus, and the numerous affairs of Zeus.

Legends | “Legends” is an appropriate term to describe these mythological characters, in that their deeds are legendary; notable legends are Arachne, Callisto, and Psyche.
