Greek Lovers and Legends

Home | Greek Legends

Why did I chose to call this section of Mythography Lovers and Legends? Well, it seemed like a way to organize two themes in Greek myth that go well together. And I also enjoyed the mnemonic aspect of the title.

Lovers | These myths involve themes of love, desire, and passion. Some examples are the story of Eros and Psyche, the tale of Echo and Narcissus, and the numerous affairs of Zeus.

Legends | “Legends” is an appropriate term to describe these mythological characters, in that their deeds are legendary. Notable legends are Arachne, Callisto, and Psyche.
