About
Welcome to Mythography!
Let’s begin with the traditional “About the Author”.
Hi there! I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is Erin, and I’m a writer with a degree in art history. I’ve been going on about myth and art online since around 1997.
Incidentally, I’ve been using the nom de plume Karyatid for a while on the Mythography forums, so I may as well continue there.
Now, here is some information about the site.
Mythography is composed of three parts. There are articles, blog style posts, and a forum. The articles are organized in a system that I developed for my site years ago. The posts are a bit more casual. I sometimes write about the books I’ve recently read, or words that intrigue me because they have a connection to mythology. The forum has been around for years. It contains a wealth of information from people who are passionate about myth.
About those categories…
The categories are hopefully pretty self-explanatory, but here’s a bit more information about them. Art History features works of art that were inspired by mythology. Books includes the sources for this site, as well as my book reviews. Et cetera is the catch all category. Here you will find a lot of posts in which I muse about various aspects of myth.
Finally, the categories Celtic Myth, Greek Myth, and Roman Myth are each devoted to their specific topic.
